Elasticity in Calgary – Elastisuutta Calgaryssa

HTDTWP valmistautuu kuumeisesti PSI #25-konferenssiin Calgaryssa 4-7 heinäkuuta. Siellä järjestämme avoimen performatiivisen paneelikeskustelun  “pitkän pöydän” muodossa, kehitelmänä Louis Weaverin Long table formaatista, otsikolla “Elastic Connections – Creativity, Resistance, Resilience: Long Table”. Osa tutkimusryhmästä jää Euraasiaan muihin tehtäviin  – ja helpottaa samalla hiukan hiilijalanjälkeämme. Onneksi heidän aliaksensa rientävät avuksi (katso kuva yllä).

HTDTWP is feverishly preparing for the PSi #25 conference in Calgary 4-7 July. We are organizing an open performative panel as a version of the long table, developed by Louis Weaver, with the title “Elastic Connections – Creativity, Resistance, Resilience: Long Table”. Part of the research group will stay in Eurasia with other duties – mitigating thus our carbon footprint a little  as well. Luckily their aliases will join in to help us out.  (see image above)

“In the research project How to do things with performance, we have focused on performance in a broad sense. Although performance is mostly understood in a broad sense as a “doing”, there is a tendency to hark back to the colloquial uses of the word associating to performing arts, and the idea of “showing doing”. This is also the way performance is understood by many of the contributors to in this issue. We want to emphasize a wider understanding of performance as a process, and thus also a more-than-human activity.” Read the full editorial here
